Licensed Professional Counselor
I truly believe that no matter where you are in your life, therapy can be beneficial. I am passionate about helping you overcome obstacles and achieve lasting change. I strive to implement a balance of warmth, empathy and authenticity in my sessions.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. I earned my Master of Science degree in Clinical Counseling from Bellevue University and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Texas. I spent a year working as a research assistant facilitating studies to advance our understanding of mood disorders; particularly the factors that lead to and maintain depression. I have served as both a Primary Therapist and Assistant Program Director at an eating disorder treatment center, where I worked with both adolescents and adults in individual and group settings. As a former professional cheerleader and dancer I am especially passionate about helping collegiate/professional athletes and dancers overcome performance pressures, decrease concerns about weight, and build confidence in their abilities to succeed.
What I am up to today:
I am an active member of the Houston Eating Disorders Specialists and the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals. I am currently pursuing a certification as an Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS). I also enjoy the opportunity to provide education on eating disorders to other clinicians as well as members of the community.
When I am not in session:
In my free time, I enjoy traveling with my husband, reading, watching true crime documentaries, and going to UT football games (Hook ‘em!).
